Sisters Community Trails Meetings Meetings are generally held the first Friday of each month at 8:00 am at the SOAR building. The public is welcome to attend.
Sisters Trails Workdays Trail building and maintenance workdays will be periodically held throughout the summer months. Generally they are scheduled for the first Sunday at 9 am and the third Tuesday at 4 pm. The next trail workdays are: Sun Aug 3, Tue Aug 19, Sun Sept 7, Tues Sept 16, Sun Oct 5, and Tue Oct 21 on the Peterson Ridge Trail. We will meet at the little bridge at the 1.65 mile mark. To get there by car, take Three Creek Road south approximately 1 mile, turn left (east) on the Brooks-Scanlon (or Mainline) road and head east approximately 1 mile to the small drainage ditch. Parking is available at that location.
Sisters Mountain Bike Trail (Peterson Ridge Trail) The Sisters Ranger District has approved the proposed expansion of the current Sisters Mountain Bike Trail. When completed, the new trail systemwill consist of nearly 30 miles of trails in a stacked loop system along the same corridor as the existing trail. The proposed trails will separate mountain bikes and equestrian use, while still providing opportunity for both in the area. Several miles of trails have been constructed and are getting great reviews and lots of use, mostly in the Eagle Rock area near Sisters. Come check out the new trails!
Sisters Poker Run The 5th Annual Sisters Poker Run will be held on Sunday, October 19th. The run will utilize approximately 34 miles of the Sisters Trails system. This years course will utilize the Peterson Ridge Trail, Metolius Windigo Trail, and the Metolius Windigo Connector Trail along the west side of Whychus Creek. Runners collect cards at 5 aid stations, and the best poker hand wins. Proceeds go to the Sisters Trails Committee for the development of local trails and maps. Peterson Ridge Rumble
National Trails Day National Trails Day was June 7, 2008. The Trails Committee held group hikes and rides for both mountain bikes and horses on the local trails. Members of the community were introduced to new trails.
